Biochemistry fourth semester

Biochemistry deals with:

INTRODUCTION: In this we discuss about Introduction of molecular basis of life and macro molecules.

CARBOHYDRATES: here,we discuss about its structure and biological functions,monosaccharides, disaccharides, polysaccharides. Also discuss about Glycoprotein.

AMINO ACIDS AND PROTEINS: here,we discuss about its structure and functions, also we discuss about types of amino acids and fibrous and globular proteins. In proteins we study about sepration of proteins.

FATS AND LIPIDS: here,we discuss about its structure and biological functions, also we discuss about types of lipids and triacylglycerol,waxes,phospholipids,  sphingolipids, lipoproteins.

NUCLEIC ACID AND NUCLEOTIDE: here,we discuss about DNA satructure of chromosomes and genes , also we discuss about Replication and transcription of DNA,RNA protein synthesis and Regulation of RNA also about Genetic recombination and cloning.

VITAMINS AND HORMONES: here,we discuss about its types,structure and its functions.

PHOTOSYNTHESIS: here,we discuss about chlorophylls also kinds and role of photosystem and about Calvin cycle.

ENZYMES: here,we discuss about properties and types of enzymes,kinetics of enzyme action also we discuss about enzyme inhibition and different types of enzymes like allosteric enzymes,assay of enzymes and regulation of enzyme activity.

BIOENERGETICS AND METABOLISM: here,we discuss about metabolism and its basics concept and design, different types of cycles for example Glycolysis citric acid cycle,oxidative phosphorylation ,pentose phosphate pathway, gluconeogenesis glycogen, disaccharide metabolism amino acid degradation and urea cycle.

BIOLOGICAL MEMBRANES: here,we discuss about characteristics of biological membranes and its components of membranes also types of membranes and fluid mosaic model  membrane asymmetry.
