Environmental Studies

Environmental studies deal with the concept of-

1. Fundamentals- This unit deals with scopes and importance of EVS, Green technology, Food resources, Water-resource, Mineral resources, Energy resources and Land resources. It also deals with resource management and sustainable development.

2. Air pollution- This unit deals with types of pollutants and primary pollutants as well as the effect of pollutants.

Water and soil pollution- classification, effect, and control of pollutants.

3. Solid waste pollution- Classification and waste treatment. Hazardous waste, classification, and disposal, Marine pollution. 

Biochemical effect of various elements and pollutants, polymer synthesis, bioplastic and biopolymers, bioaccumulation, biodegradation, bioleaching, bioremediation, bio-methanation.

4. Green technology- Basic principles and tools of GT and the concept of atom economy.

 Environmental Impact Assessment- important laws, Green bench and Carbon Credits.
